Wet Processed Peaberry from Northern Tanzania
Peaberry beans are slightly different than your typical coffee beans- Coffee plants produce their fruit in the form of a cherry. Typically, the coffee cherry grows two halves of a bean within a single cherry. With Peaberry – the coffee cherry produces a single bean rather than two, thus resulting in a smaller bean. Since only one bean rather than two are formed, Peaberry coffee beans are more robust in flavor and more acidic than regular Arabica coffee beans. We roast Peaberry beans medium light. The flavor profile of this coffee is full bodied, medium acidity with bright, floral notes and somewhat fruity, with hints of cacao and cinnamon. The result is bright, light and paradoxically rich and robust in the cup. We have developed a huge fan base for this coffee with a constant stream of inquiries from folks who’ve had the pleasure of tasting it in some of the finer restaurants in Cleveland. This is the coffee we serve to guests at our roastery and in our homes.
