Product Description

A blend of Nicaragua Fair Trade and Colombian Supremo beans

We have partnered with a Central Ohio Mennonite Church, with a mission based in Nicaragua. Through our relationship with this broker we have been able to bring Direct Trade coffee from the Diago Chavarria farm in Matagalpa, Nicaragua to Cleveland, OH. Direct Trade means that we have negotiated fairly and equally with the farmer that produces the coffee to ensure a sustainable and fair price for the all parties involved. Mr. Chavarria’s coffee with its mild acidity and chocolate undertones pairs well to blending with the fuller bodied, acidic Colombian Supremo coffee which is roasted a bit darker and blended post roast. The result is a big, bold and bright. It is a well- balanced cup with hints of chocolate and a smooth finish.

Availability and prices may change based on the conditions of the coffee market at that time.

Full disclosure, I am the guy who set Solstice up with this website. During our discovery process, I am embarrassed to say that Joe Described me to a ‘T’ – “…a person who thinks they love the strong flavors of the big brand but what they’re actually tasting is burnt beans for the sake of consistency.”

I HAVE had truly good coffee, just not from Cleveland. I considered myself a snob and my regular beans at home have been from the big chain exclusively.

Since getting to sample Solstice’s various blends and varietals, I am going to be switching to this far superior, roasted-right local option. Deigo’s Deep Roast is a personal favorite.
